State Officers

Samyata Sharma is Oregon HOSA’s 2024-2025 President-Elect and a rising junior at Sunset High School. As a two-year HOSA member, she has gotten the opportunity to experience Oregon’s SLC and ILC in the teamwork event, forensic science. Samyata hopes to go into biomedical engineering and HOSA has been her stepping stone into the medical professional field. As a member of speech and debate since 7th grade, she loves to talk and plan with her peers. From her experiences with HOSA, she can confirm that exposure to a professional environment at a young age is invaluable to a student’s education. Being able to speak or research well means so much more when you can make connections with other people and expand your executive reach with your skills and hard work. It was through these opportunities that Samyata was able to be elected as this term’s president-elect. Outside of school, Samyata’s favorite interests include sewing, music, and multiple styles of dance. She’s always seen with her trusty headphones wherever she goes. Samyata is also involved in multiple volunteering ventures: such as the leadership of her high school-based charity club, Sunset Cares, and volunteering in shifts at a small business affiliated with her local library. Service and dedication to compassionately caring for others is a core value implemented by HOSA that is seen in all of its dedicated members. Samyata cannot wait to serve you all in her position as an Oregon HOSA State Officer!
