Career/Internship Opportunities


The PeaceHealth Teen Volunteer program is for high school students age 15-18 years old. Students are asked to attend a personal interview and new Volunteer Orientation, and make a school year and/or summer commitment to come in one day a week to work a regularly scheduled 2-4 hour volunteer shift. There are currently 85 shifts available throughout our 4 campuses and Teen Volunteers are given the opportunity to be assigned to the following areas:

  • Anesthesia Clinic – supporting the functions of the registration and pre-admission testing for surgery patients.
  • Lobby Hospitality Desk – providing a warm welcome to all patients and guests, way-finding, patient escort and delivery of flowers and mail.
  • Information Services and Technologies – assisting with inventorying and validating equipment, cable management, installation and removal of computers, and unboxing new equipment.
  • Materials Management – organizing and stocking supplies, departmental deliveries, sorting and delivering mail, and assisting with general clean up and organization of the department.
  • NICU – hospitality, way-finding, hand hygiene instruction, visitor check in, clerical duties, and errands on the unit.
  • Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) – cleaning, stocking, and patient escort.
  • Surgical Procedures Area (SPA) – readying rooms, stocking, and cleaning.
  • Surgical Procedures Waiting Area – hospitality, way-finding, Smartrack system education, waiting room rounding, clerical work, and special projects.

Interested in research, medicine, nursing, dentistry, physician assistant, or public health?  Thinking about graduate school?

The OHSU Summer Equity Research Internship Program offers:

  • An exciting opportunity to spend eight weeks working with faculty and graduate students in a research setting.
  • Equity Interns will learn new research skills and gain hands-on lab experience.
  • Weekly seminars with fellow interns and faculty mentors
  • Scientific poster presentation of your summer research project.
  • Ongoing mentoring and advising about your individual career pathway.
  • Shadowing and Clinical experience (MD Track).
  • A paid stipend during the program.

“FEMA is looking for youth leaders who are dedicated to public  service, who are making a difference in their communities, and who want to expand their impact as national advocates for youth disaster preparedness. Any individual between the ages of 12 and 17 who is engaged in individual and community preparedness, or who has experienced a disaster that has motivated him or her to make a positive difference in his or her community, may apply to serve on the Youth Preparedness Council.
